1. Wait to Water (Spring)

  • Pull: Remove the plant from its old pot as new growth begins.
  • Expose (Trim): Trim old roots to about 1 inch (2.5 cm). These act as an anchor rather than for water absorption.
  • Tie: Secure the bulb tightly to the new medium. Movement can damage sensitive new root tips.

2. Active Growth (Summer)

  • Watering: Keep them "monsoon-wet." Never let the medium dry out.
  • Fertilizer: Heavy feeders. Use balanced, urea-free fertilizer; double dosage during peak summer.
  • Light: Bright light (Cattleya levels).
